Nottingham Forest now want to take full advantage of Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ relegation by signing one of their wantaway stars this summer.
The Tricky Trees will be aiming to return to European heights next season and have already set their sights on several potential additions as a result, including the likes of Marc Casado.
Of course, there’s every chance that their budget receives a hefty boost courtesy of Elliot Anderson before the end of the window too, which would only enhance their own transfer ambitions.
Manchester City and Manchester United are both competing for the midfielder’s signature, which is expected to cost around £100m. Before his sale reaches an advanced stage, however, those at the City Ground have got an addition of their own in mind.
According to Jeunes Footeux in France, Nottingham Forest have held talks with Marshall Munetsi‘s representatives about a shock move from Midlands rivals Wolves this summer.
The midfielder is not staying put at Paris FC after his loan move and is also keen to leave Wolves following their relegation to the Championship. His agent is now on the hunt for a new club, and he hasn’t had to look far thanks to Forest.
Vitor Pereira worked with Munetsi at Molinuex and a reunion may well be on the cards if those at the City Ground can come to an agreement with Wolves in the coming months.

Munetsi has earned chance at Premier League redemption
On paper in the Midlands, Munetsi may look like a transfer flop. However, the truth is that he joined Wolves at a time when they failed to replace departing stars and were left staring down the barrel of relegation as a result.
If Forest fans want to know the player they’re potentially signing, then they should look at Munetsi’s spell in Paris. It was there that he was involved in six goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances and showed glimpses of his full potential.
Pereira has also already been so full of praise for the 29-year-old in the past, telling reporters during his time at Wolves: “Munetsi, I tell you… when we look for footballers, technique is one thing, but football is not only about technique. Football is about tactical spirit, physicality; Munetsi is like an animal. Running and running and running.”
So, this is a player who has more than earned a second shot at English football, and one which may come courtesy of Nottingham Forest.
