Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor most recently revealed during a sit-down with Ariel Helwani that after his upcoming UFC 329 bout, he will compete again in April 2027. Now Dana White has reacted to the Dubliner’s claim.
McGregor has just two fights left on his contract, and so far, according to the Irishman, the UFC has not reached out to him about an extension or a new deal. He also told Helwani that he would love to continue with UFC, and that if, after UFC 329, he gets a good deal, he would gladly sign it.
After five years away, “The Notorious” is set to make his long-awaited return next month at UFC 329, where he is going to run it back with Max Holloway in the main event.
His coach, John Kavanagh, had earlier told the media that after the Holloway rematch, they would not wait long for the next bout to be booked.
However, McGregor told Ariel Helwani that after the Holloway rematch, his next fight is in April 2027, adding that’s how his “contract was done.
“I am contracted, and I have both dates for my fight… I have July 11th and [the second one is in April 2027]. It’s almost a year later! That’s ridiculous to me, I think, no? This is the way the contract was done.”

Dana White reacts to Conor McGregor’s claim about second fight already being lined up for 2027
This past weekend, Dana White, during the UFC Vegas 119 post-fight presser, weighed in on Conor McGregor’s comments that he already has a second fight lined up, which will take place potentially in April 2027. Reacting to the claim, White said:
“I don’t even know. Let’s get through this one first, and then we will figure out when the next one is. To even be talking about his second fight without even having the first fight… Let’s see how this fight [UFC 329] plays out.”

If “The Notorious” shines on his UFC return, he would then love to lock horns with welterweight champion Islam Makhachev or newly minted undisputed lightweight titleholder Justin Gaethje.
