Fabrizio Romano has revealed one of Tottenham Hotspur‘s top summer transfer targets will agree personal terms in North London if they can agree to a transfer fee with his club.
Spurs have been by far the busiest side in the Premier League early in the transfer window, with ENIC hard at working rebuilding both Roberto De Zerbi’s squad and their relationship with the club’s support.
The Lewis family promised to rebuild trust with fans this summer in an open letter last month, claiming they will back the manager this summer.
“This will require investment – in our teams, the academy, our backroom functions and more – and we are fully committed to this.
“We are not selling the club. We are all in. We are investing in it. You will see more of this in the coming months.
“We care deeply about Spurs. The rebuilding the club needs, and you deserve, has begun. The change required is deep. It will take time and commitment, but change is happening.
“We know that actions will speak louder than words.”
And they’ve certainly made a good start, acting quickly to transform a defence that conceded the most goals of any side to remain in the top flight last season.
Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi were first to arrive in free transfers before Netherlands star Jan Paul van Hecke joined in a £52m deal last week.

De Zerbi has praised the defender’s leadership both during their time together at Brighton and on signing the 26 year-old, while he has also personally told Spurs not to sell Micky van de Ven, so it seems Spurs will be banking on a Dutch spine for years to come.
Fabrizio Romano: De Zerbi wants Liverpool target to lead Tottenham project
Liverpool and Tottenham are set for a tussle over the future of a highly sought after defender.
Next up on the agenda is to strengthen in midfield, where the likes of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes have been linked as big money investmenets, and Romano shared an update on Spurs’ efforts to upgrade in the centre of the park.
Romano: £85m star will agree personal terms with Tottenham
Speaking in his latest YouTube video, the reporter shared an update on West Ham star Fernandes, confirming all three interested parties – Tottenham, Real Madrid and Manchester United – have spoken to the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
And while United are the only one currently in talks with his club, Romano revealed some good news for Spurs supporters, with Fernandes happy to agree to personal terms with whichever club is first to meet the Hammers’ conditions.
“The feeling is who is going to bring the best proposal to West Ham – they start at £85m to get probably more, because they believe day by day more clubs are joining the race.
“The club arriving with the best proposal to West Ham will also be able to close the deal with the player.”
The 21 year-old scored three times and provided four assists in the Premier League last term, but more impressive was his work off the ball.
Indeed, the Portuguese youngster averaged 2.9 tackles per game, which was the most in the West Ham team and would be second only to his compatriot, Joao Palhinha, at Tottenham.
