BEAVERTON, Ore. — Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Top100 receiver Osani Gayles could have gone anywhere in the country to play his college ball, but on Saturday, the 6-0, 185-pounder chose to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff beat Washington and Stanford on decision day to secure the commitment of the No. 34 overall player in the class of 2027, No. 7 receiver overall nationally, and No. 5 prospect in the Sunshine State.
Gayles, who announced his commitment live on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube Channel, couldn’t be more excited about his future in Tuscaloosa. Despite strong ties to both of the other finalists, Gayles chose to carve his own path and take his talent to the SEC powerhouse.
Ahead of his public commitment, Gayles spoke with 247Sports about his decision to play for the Crimson Tide and what all went into that commitment.
