Jon Jones has given his two cents on Islam Makhachev’s next fight.
The two-division champion, current 170-pound titleholder, and pound-for-pound king will lock horns with Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330.
Garry has already discussed how he plans to dominate for three rounds and then go for the final kill in the fourth. The Irishman doesn’t want a knockout victory right away or a quick submission as he aims to show the world that he’s figured out how to solve the Makhachev puzzle and will pull the trigger when he feels he has dominated for the majority of the minutes on August 15.

Islam Makhachev’s coach, Javier Mendez, on the other hand, believes the Irishman could pose problems on the feet because of his reach advantage and superior striking. However, once the fight goes to the ground, it could be a long night for “The Future.”
Now Jon Jones has weighed in on the UFC 330 headliner.
Jon Jones breaks down UFC 330 main event: Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry
During a recent interview with Red Corner MMA, when asked about the Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry welterweight title bout, “Bones” made it clear that come fight night, he won’t be rooting for anyone, as he doesn’t know Makhachev or Garry personally but believes the Dagestani wrestling maestro will win because of his “wrestling pedigree.”
Islam is gonna fight against Ian Garry next, right? I assume that Islam is gonna win that one just because of his wrestling pedigree. To be able to dictate if the fight is gonna be standing or on the ground, it’s a great gift. Another guy with a strong team behind him, strong faith.”
Jones added:
“I am not rooting for anyone in that fight because I do not know either one of those guys on a personal level, but I am assuming that Islam is gonna win. That is my prediction.”
