Rangers got off to a flying start in the summer transfer window and look set to continue their flurry of arrivals as the new season approaches.
Having already hired Derek McInnes and signed Lawrence Shankland from Hearts, the Gers have now got their sights set on Claudio Braga, who can take his pick of suitors.

Football FanCast’s Verdict |

|
Credibility |
It would be absurd for Rangers to sign Braga after already welcoming McInnes and Shankland, but that may not stop them from doing exactly that. Ipswich Town are preparing an offer worth around £9.5m, however, and are currently in the driving seat. |
|
Finances |
It remains to be seen whether Hearts decide to accept Ipswich’s £9.5m offer, but that’s not the limit of what the Tractor Boys can offer. They recently splashed out to sign Ligue 1 striker Emersonn and could do the same to sign Braga ahead of Rangers. |
|
Insight |
Braga enjoyed an excellent season at Hearts last time out. He played a leading role as they mounted a shock title challenge, scoring 14 goals and creating another three in the Scottish Premiership. |
|
Impact |
The forward’s departure would force Hearts into the market and could strengthen Rangers at the same time if they go on and land a third signing from Tynecastle in a matter of months. |
Braga is a man in-demand and rightly so after an excellent season at Hearts last time out.
Rangers plotting Ipswich hijack to sign Braga
According to O Jogo in Portugal, as relayed by Sport Witness, Rangers are now plotting a hijack to sign Braga from Hearts this summer. The Gers are still looking to jump ahead of Ipswich, despite reports claiming that the Suffolk side are preparing a £9.5m offer for the forward.
Having recently spent big on Emersonn, there won’t be doubts about Ipswich’s ability to spend in the Premier League, but some will be questioning whether they’ll target another forward.
If that doesn’t prove to be the case, then Rangers will be handed a major boost in pursuit of yet another Hearts star, who was dubbed “excellent” by analyst Kai Watson.
Rangers should go all out to sign Braga
As far as Rangers are concerned, Braga would be the perfect signing. He is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership, plays for a rival club and is someone that has starred under McInnes in the past. It’s why they should go all out for his signature this summer.
A lot of work will need to happen if Rangers are to jump ahead of Ipswich, but the 49ers haven’t hesitated so far this summer and the Tractor boys are still preparing their offer.
