Fulham are looking to make a splash in the transfer market, following the appointment of Alvaro Arbeloa, who has made it clear he plans to play an attractive brand of football.
That is according to owner Shahid Khan, who said: “Alvaro also has great interest in our Academy set-up and believes in giving young players a chance. I loved hearing that from Alvaro, as well as his intent on playing attacking football. All of this and a lot more makes Alvaro Arbeloa an ideal fit to lead Fulham Football Club into the upcoming Premier League season and beyond.”
With the Spaniard eager to implement a forward-thinking style of play, the Cottagers have set out to improve their options in attack, identifying Celtic star Daizen Maeda as a target, alongside Atalanta forward El Bilal Toure.
However, the west Londoners are also looking to raid Premier League rivals Manchester United for a player who is capable of making an impact from an attacking point of view.
Fulham make approach to sign Man Utd star
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Fulham have now held talks to sign Man United midfielder Mason Mount, but Michael Carrick is determined to keep hold of the £150,000-a-week midfielder.
That is after Carrick underlined the Englishman’s importance to his side back in March.

The 27-year-old arrived at Old Trafford in a £60m deal back in 2023. Given that Man United have little interest in sanctioning a departure, the Cottagers could be priced out of a deal, |

Insight |
The former Chelsea man has made just 72 appearances in all competitions over the past three seasons, having struggled on the injury front. Last season, he scored three goals in 23 Premier League matches. |

Impact |
Emile Smith-Rowe often plays in the number 10 role for Fulham presently. However, the 25-year-old scored just three goals in 37 league outings last season, and failed to grab any assists, which suggests Mount could be an instant upgrade. |
Why Mason Mount could be an upgrade on Emile Smith-Rowe
The Man United midfielder is far more established than Smith-Rowe at international level, with the latter collecting just three caps for the Three Lions.
Moreover, the Portsmouth-born star has amassed 32 goals and 24 assists in 183 Premier League games, while Smith Rowe has performed slightly worse, picking up 21 goals and 13 assists in 151 matches.
Mount won the 2020-21 Champions League with Chelsea too, but he would be a very risky signing for the Cottagers, having seriously struggled on the injury front.
Since signing for United, he has missed a total of 70 games in all competitions due to a number of injury issues, and he featured for just 1,018 minutes in last season’s Premier League.
