The Chicago Blackhawks bring back Patrick Kane
The Chicago Blackhawks signed free agent forward Patrick Kane to a two-year deal with a salary cap hit of $8 million with a full no-movement clause.
Ben Pope: “Blackhawks fans have been through a lot of pain lately. They deserved some news to really get excited about. Signing Patrick Kane certainly qualifies. This isn’t just finally adding a top-six winger — it’s adding the one Hawks fans love the most. I would love to see the look on so many people’s faces across Chicago when they wake up to this news.”
Patrick Kane, signed 2x$8M by CHI, is a veteran playmaking winger whose vision and passing sill remain intact, controlling the tempo of the game and setting up scoring chances. He’s not fast, physical, or interested in defending, but he should inject some skill for the Hawks. pic.twitter.com/xWjJsoJz7j

The Columbus Blue Jackets and Jet Greaves were scheduled to have an arbitration hearing this morning, but the sides were able to agree on a three-year deal at a $5 million salary cap hit.
Blue Jackets: Blue Jackets GM Don Waddell after agreeing to the deal with Greaves.
“Jet is a high-character, talented and athletic goaltender who has become an important part of our hockey club. Our intent always was to get a deal done to ensure he remains a Blue Jacket and we are thrilled that we were able to do so.”
Greaves finished last season with the 26-19-9 record in 55 games. He had a 2.60 GAA, .908 SV% and two shutouts.
