The best wingers in the Premier League (2025/26)

The Premier League has been home to some of the greatest wingers we’ve seen in football history, from the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo to Gareth Bale and to Mo Salah.

During the 2024/25 campaign, the ex-Liverpool wide man produced one of the finest-ever individual top-flight campaigns, albeit while having since drifted off for a fresh start in Turkey.

So, where is the next Salah coming from? Well, Antoine Semenyo signed for Manchester City in January 2026 and proved to be one of the standout players of 2025/26.

Cody Gakpo – Liverpool

A polarising figure at times at Liverpool, Cody Gakpo at his best is still a real force down that left flank, as he showed with three goals in just four World Cup outings this summer.

Tipped to potentially move on to Tottenham Hotspur before the deadline, the 27-year-old boasts a solid record of 50 goals in 180 games for the Merseysiders so far.

Harry Wilson – Leeds United

One of the biggest surprise packages of the 2025/26 campaign, Harry Wilson was in electric form for Marco Silva’s side, banging in goal after goal.

By the end of the season, he’d round things off with 17 goals and assists in the Premier League alone, sealing a switch to Leeds United following the expiry of his Craven Cottage contract.

Marcus Rashford – Manchester United

He’s back, but is he here to stay? That’s the question regarding Marcus Rashford’s return to Manchester United, the buzzword right now being that of ‘reintegration’ following the Englishman’s failure to seal a dream stay at Barcelona.

It’s been 18 months since the 28-year-old last pulled on a United shirt, but he was a hit in Catalonia, ending 2025/26 with 28 goals and assists in all competitions.

At his best, there aren’t many better in Europe, let alone the Premier League – can he be like the cliched ‘new signing’?

Iliman Ndiaye – Everton

Six years ago, Ndiaye was on loan at Hyde United. Fast forward and he’s one of the most thrilling players in the Premier League. It’s remarkable how quickly things can change in football.

Without Ndiaye, it’s likely Everton would be fighting it out near the bottom of the table; he is that good. The Toffees will just be hoping he’s here to stay, amid rampant Saudi interest.

Bryan Mbeumo – Manchester United

The Cameroon international lit up the English top-flight with Brentford in 2024/25, scoring 20 league goals to seal a £65m move to Old Trafford.

His debut year in Manchester ended with just 12 goals across all fronts, although Mbeumo was the man for the big occasion, scoring against the likes of Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and Spurs.

Morgan Rogers – Chelsea

The presence of Cole Palmer will likely see Morgan Rogers line up on the left flank following his bumper £117m move to Chelsea, even though his best work came through the middle back at Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old memorably supplied the assist for Anthony Gordon’s opener in England’s World Cup semi-final clash with Argentina, briefly sending the nation into a frenzy. We all know what happened next…

Matheus Cunha – Manchester United

The Brazilian has been a tremendous signing for United, and while it took him a little bit of time to get up to speed, he’s been arguably the club’s best player behind Bruno Fernandes in 2026.

Come May, he’d scored ten league goals, already putting together a catalogue of stunning finishes for his new side. His winner away at the Emirates will live long in the memory for the Red Devils.

Jeremy Doku – Manchester City

The trickiest winger in the league, Doku is a captivating player to watch when he’s on form, almost unplayable when he wants to be.

He’s got pace to burn, is a menacing dribbler, and he finally started adding goals to his game in 2025/26. Can Enzo Maresca help fashion him into a true superstar this season?

Just ahead of Doku is the aforementioned Semenyo, with the Belgian’s new City teammate having been in remarkably consistent form across 2025/26.

It proved to be the campaign of the Ghanaian’s dreams, turning on the style for Bournemouth and then earning a mega-money move to the Etihad in the winter window.

All in, he ended the season with 17 league goals to his name, a truly lethal talent on either foot.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal

This has not been Saka’s finest year by any stretch of the imagination, but he’s still Arsenal’s best player and is still arguably the finest winger in the league when he’s on it.

Somewhat on the periphery at the World Cup over the summer, Saka reminded everyone of his quality with that hat-trick against France in the Bronze medal match.

For all the talk of new additions at the Emirates, a fit and firing Saka could be better than any marquee incoming for Mikel Arteta.
