Manchester United have now submitted an enquiry regarding a deal for Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen, as their search for a new striker continues.
With the end of the summer transfer window edging ever closer, Man United are still on the lookout for a centre-forward, and they have identified a number of potential targets.

Osimhen has also now entered the frame, and he is held in very high regard by former United boss Jose Mourinho, who lauded the Nigerian as a “world-class striker” during his time with Napoli.
Since then, the 27-year-old has continued to stake a claim as one of the best strikers in the world, picking up 61 goals and 16 assists in 75 matches for Turkish giants Galatasaray over the past two seasons.
In the 2025-26 season, the former Napoli man proved he has what it takes to go head-to-head with Europe’s elite by amassing seven goals and three assists in ten Champions League matches, and he averaged 0.79 goals per 90 in the Turkish Super Lig.
As such, a move to the Premier League could be overdue, and the Red Devils have started making moves in the race for the centre-forward’s signature.
Victor Osimhen open to Man Utd move
Earlier this week, it was revealed Michael Carrick‘s side have held internal discussions regarding a deal for the Galatasaray marksman.
However, Football FanCast sources now understand that Man United have submitted an enquiry to sign Osimhen as they gather information on what it could take to sign him.
During discussions with the player’s camp, they understand that the forward would be open to a move to Old Trafford, which suggests a deal could be possible if they are able to agree a fee with Galatasaray.
However, there have been widespread reports suggesting the Turkish side have recently knocked back a £111m offer from Al-Hilal, so United may have to break the bank to get a deal over the line.
Man Utd also eyeing Igor Matanovic
Having proven himself in the Serie A and Champions League, Osimhen could be a ready-made upgrade on Benjamin Sesko, but United have also set their sights on a more left-field option, namely SC Frebiburg’s Igor Matanovic.
Matanovic is a similar age to Sesko at just 23, and he is of a similar stock, having scored 11 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches for Freiburg last season, which was his most prolific campaign in the top tier of German football to date.
However, there are question marks over whether United should bring in another striker with limited top-level experience, and Osimhen would be more likely to hit the ground running at Old Trafford, so it is exciting news that a move to United appeals to him.
