The South Carolina Gamecocks are a bit banged up heading into the 2026 season.

That has to be concerning for head coach Shane Beamer, given the pressure on him heading into this campaign.

After starting his career 29-22 and seemingly getting the Gamecocks back on track after the disappointing end of the Will Muschamp era, Beamer is coming off a terrible 2025 season.

The Gamecocks were expected to potentially even be a College Football Playoff contender in 2025. Instead, they went 4-8.

Now, it’s being reported that they’ll likely start the season without key transfer offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak and superstar edge-rusher Dylan Stewart.

The Gamecocks kick things off on Sept. 5 against Kent State, and both Peak and Stewart will likely be out.
