Some of the most expensive players in European football just so happen to be some of the youngest. The next generation is officially breaking through, scrambling to take football’s crown in the Premier League, La Liga and across Europe.

Transfermarkt have ranked the most valuable teenagers in world football, and some of them also feature in the 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings, with Lamine Yamal next in line to become football royalty. The Barcelona winger finished second behind Ousmane Dembele in the last edition and is highly-tipped to take his crown in 2026.

But he’s not entirely alone in that battle. Transfermarkt’s list also includes Premier League talents, and as English football continues to attract some of the world’s best players, there’s no denying that it could produce its best generation yet.

Said El Mala (€45m)

Said El Mala is certainly someone to watch. He’s been on the radar of sides like Liverpool and Brentford this summer and has quickly become one of the world’s most valuable teenagers.

It’s easy to see where such interest has come from, too. The winger scored 13 goals and provided a further five assists in all competitions at Koln last time out. And at 19 years old, the best is yet to come.

9

Franco Mastantuono (€45m)

It was a mixed debut campaign for Franco Mastantuono at Real Madrid. After a quick start, he struggled to find form alongside the rest of his teammates. Since then, the Argentine sensation has joined Fiorentino on loan, where he will hope to climb closer to his full potential before a Madrid return.

As far as Transfermarkt are concerned, the 19-year-old is still one of the most valuable teenagers in the world.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (€45m)

An England international and part of an Arsenal squad looking to defend their Premier League crown, it feels absurd that Myles Lewis-Skelly is still just 19 years old. The Gunners’ famous Hale End academy has produced yet another gem and one of the most valued teenagers in European football.

Although reports have linked the versatile left-back with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea, Lewis-Skelly remains an Arsenal player and part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

7

Lennart Karl (€60m)

After bursting onto the scene at Bayern Munich last season, Lennart Karl is now one of the most valuable teenagers in world football. A player who only seems to score wonder goals in Germany, Karl is still just 18 years old and destined to reach the very top of European football.

In the last campaign, the teenager scored nine goals and set up another eight. He is very much the next big thing coming out of Bayern and setting the Bundesliga alight.

6

Luca Vuskovic (€60m)

Several eyebrows were raised when Tottenham Hotspur sanctioned the sale of Luca Vuskovic to Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls landed the central defender for a club-record £46m and are set to reap the rewards.

Vuskovic spent the previous campaign on loan at Hamburg, where he was one of the best defenders that the Bundesliga has to offer. He’s quick, aerially dominant and comfortable in possession.

Valued at €60m, it would come as a surprise if the former Spurs man didn’t go on and become one of the best centre-backs in Europe.

5

Ayyoub Bouaddi (€80m)

Valued at €80m by Transfermarkt, Ayyoub Bouaddi is a player destined for the Premier League sooner rather than later. The LOSC Lille sensation looks to be heading to Manchester City in a deal worth around €100m, as the Citizens look to replace Rodri.

On paper, it looks like the Manchester club are about to pay over the odds for the 18-year-old. However, all it takes is one look at how comfortable he looked for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup to realise what he can already offer.

4

Estevao Willian (€80m)

In years to come, many supporters around European football are going to be wondering how exactly Chelsea won the race for Estevao Willian. Whilst the likes of Florian Wirtz and Xavi Simons struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League last season, the Blues’ 19-year-old Brazilian has thrived in the face of several opportunities at Stamford Bridge.

Although those in West London have missed with a number of young signings, they’ve undoubtedly hit the mark by signing Estevao. Their teenager is destined for greatness and is already valued at €80m.

3

Yan Diomande (€90m)

12 months ago, Yan Diomande was bursting onto the scene at RB Leipzig. Now, he is a Real Madrid player and one of the most valuable teenagers in the world. To say he was a man in-demand would be an understatement, but the food chain often dictates it’s those at the Bernabeu who eat first.

The 19-year-old arrives with plenty of pressure to perform, with a €140m price-tag hardly helping to alleviate that pressure. As far as he’s concerned, though, that pressure will be converted into diamonds in no time,

2

Pau Cubarsi (€100m)

One of only three defenders on this list, Pau Cubarsi already plays a crucial part in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona side and in a World Cup-winning Spain side. It speaks volumes that the 19-year-old won the Young Player of the Tournament at the World Cup and that’s reflected in his €100m valuation.

Whilst the La Masia academy has produced some great attacking talents over the years, they’ll be relieved to have unearthed such an impressive defensive gem and someone who should be at the heart of their backline for years to come.

1

Lamine Yamal (€220m)

It was always going to be him, wasn’t it? Yamal isn’t just the most valued teenager in European football, but he’s one of the most valued players in the world. He is next in line for football’s throne. This generation’s answer to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – that’s the level that Barcelona have produced once again.

Even with that pressure on his shoulders, the Spaniard has continued to thrive – becoming the main man at Barcelona in just a couple of years. Still just 19 years old but already outrageously talented, Yamal is valued at as much as €220m after winning the 2026 World Cup with Spain.
