The 2027 adidas Polynesian Bowl has added another top prospect to its game, and he is one of Tennessee’s most talented players. Springfield (Tenn.) High 2028 Top247 cornerack Jermaine Cobbins will wrap up his junior season in the Aloha State alongside many other elite athletes in this prestigious game.
This is a moment the 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back, who shines on the offensive side of the ball as well, has been working toward.
“It means a lot to me to be recognized as one of the top players in the nation,” Cobbins said. “I always want to compete against the best, and this is an opportunity to do just that.”
Cobbins is 247Sports’ No. 27 overall prospect and No. 5 cornerback nationally in the 2028 class, and Tennessee’s No. 1 player. As it stands, Cobbins is slotted in that five-star range but 247Sports is yet to expand to the full 32 at season’s end.
“I’m a big, athletic corner who can play other positions in the secondary because I’m also physical,” Cobbins said. “I’m a playmaker on both sides of the ball for my team. I’m an intelligent player as well.”
Cobbins has more than 30 offers to his name but hasn’t completely narrowed things down quite yet. That said, there are a few programs to track closely at this point.
