Wolverhampton Wanderers have made an approach regarding a deal for Amario Cozier-Duberry, with West Ham United also in talks to sign the Brighton forward.
Having both been relegated from the Premier League last season, West Ham and Wolves have their sights firmly set on being promoted from the Championship at the first attempt, and Cozier-Duberry looks ready to test himself in the second tier.
Last season, Brighton sent the 21-year-old on loan to Bolton Wanderers, and he was one of the main reasons the Trotters were promoted from League One, picking up eight goals and 12 assists in 34 matches during the regular season.

Wolves |
The Old Gold don’t have many options at right-wing, with Rodrigo Gomes being given the nod in that area for the 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers in their opening game. Gomes hasn’t exactly set the world alight since moving to Molineux, picking up eight goals and one assist in 57 appearances, so Cozier-Duberry may feel as though he can become Cesar Peixoto’s first choice. |

West Ham |
In truth, the starlet may find it difficult to hold down a place in Nuno’s starting XI, considering West Ham were able to retain Jarrod Bowen, who starts at right-wing, which is Amario-Duberry’s preferred position. The Brighton forward is capable of playing on the opposite side, but left-winger Manor Solomon has made a flying start to life with the Hammers, scoring in the 2-2 draw against Burnley on his debut. |
The winger also averaged 2.2 successful dribbles per 90 in the second tier, showcasing his ability to drive at opposition defences, and he created a total of 53 chances.
Jack Wilshere has been a fan since his time working with the youngster in the Arsenal academy, saying: “Amario is very exciting and Mikel [Arteta] likes him. “He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.”
Wolves and West Ham open talks to sign Cozier-Duberry
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Wolves have now entered the race to sign Cozier Duberry, having made initial contact, but there will be competition from West Ham, who have also opened talks.
Brighton are demanding £10m for the young winger, and they rejected a £7m bid from Rangers earlier this summer, as he still has two years remaining on his contract.
The Gers have moved onto other targets, potentially opening the door for either the Hammers or the Old Gold to get a deal done, as they look to bolster their attacking options before the September 1st transfer deadline.
Both sides drew their opening games of the season, and Peixato’s side will be aiming to get their first win on the board when they travel to Preston North End this Saturday, while West Ham are taking on London rivals Charlton Athletic on home soil.
