Alexander Volkanovski has claimed that his upcoming opponent, Movsar Evloev, will have his best weapon ‘thrown out the window’ after 1 or 2 rounds.
The two featherweights are set to clash in the main event of UFC 333 on the 24th of October, 2026, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
With almost two months left for his title defense, Volkanovski sat down with Niko Pajarillo of Fox Sports to discuss a myriad of topics. Among those was how his fight against Evloev would pan out.

The featherweight champ highlighted the only way the Russian could beat him before adding that the latter’s strength is “a weakness when it comes to me.” Volkanovski said:
His best bet is to knock me out. A lot of people are like, ‘He’s just going to try and wrestle.’ That’s going to be thrown out of the window after 1 or 2 rounds. He’s going to be getting too tired to just wanna keep tryna take me down. He’d be better off just swinging and trying to catch me…No one in my division can beat me in a decision…His game relies so much on wrestling, and that’s a weakness when it comes to me.
Alexander Volkanovski Predicts “Where the Finish Happens” Against Movsar Evloev
Alexander Volkanovski then went on to predict how he would possibly finish Movsar Evloev. The Australian said:
I want him to know that when these takedowns don’t work – ‘Look what happens to you.’ I want him panicking, I want him freaking out, I want him panic-shooting and then it not working again. And then, all of a sudden, he’s getting all flustered, and I truly believe that’s where the finish happens.

Volkanovski is coming off a unanimous decision win over Diego Lopes at UFC 325 in their rematch. Evloev, on the other hand, beat Lerone Murphy (March 2026) in a close majority decision, which also kept his unbeaten record (20-0) intact.
