The chase for the career rushing record in the state of Texas is officially underway.
The 5-foot-8, 195-pound running back finished with 32 carries for 227 yards and two touchdowns. He scored on a 20-yard run to give Randle a 14-0 lead at the 8:47 mark of the second quarter and added a 21-yard score with 2:31 left in the third to make it 20-7. For added measure, he completed a pass that went for 20 yards.

Williams-Callis entered this season with 7,554 career rushing yards, needing 3,829 to break the state record of 11,382, which was established last season by Kaegan Ash of Mt. Enterprise.

Williams-Callis was a first team MaxPreps All-American as a junior after going over the 200-yard mark 10 times, including a career-high 342 last September.

Randle avenged last year’s 35-19 loss to South Oak Cliff, in which Williams-Callis ran for 132 yards and a touchdown. The Lions entered this season having won 42 of 45 games since the future Longhorn arrived on campus, including a state title in 2024.
