Wolverhampton Wanderers are now interested in signing Silas Andersen, with the midfielder planning to leave BK Hacken in the summer transfer window.
Interest in signing a new midfielder comes amid major criticism of Angel Gomes, with the Englishman failing to impress since joining on loan from Marseille until the end of the season back in January.
Most recently, the 25-year-old struggled to make an impact in the first half of the 3-0 defeat against Leeds United, which leaves Wolves on the brink of relegation to the Championship, having won just three matches all season.
Angel Gomes’ stats vs Leeds United
- 38 minutes played
- 0% duel success rate
- Possession lost six times
- 1 defensive action
- 0 shots
- 0 successful dribbles
The Old Gold have the option to sign Gomes on a permanent basis in the summer, but they are also interested in bringing in a different midfielder, namely BK Hacken star Andersen, and there have been encouraging signs that a deal could be possible.
BK Hacken open to selling Silas Anderson amid interest from Wolves
According to a report from Sportbladet (via Sport Witness), Wolves are in the picture to sign the 21-year-old in the summer, and he has ‘made a plan’ to leave the Swedish club, who want to raise money by cashing-in on some of their most valuable players.
The Danish maestro was formerly in the youth ranks at Inter Milan, making 35 appearances for the U19 team, but it is at Hacken where he has started to make a name for himself, with scout Jacek Kulig describing him as a “superb” holding midfielder back in October.
Only three games of the current Allsvenskan campaign have been played, but the youngster has been performing very well, averaging 2.3 tackles per 90, which is more than any other BK Hacken player, and the third-highest number of successful dribbles per 90 (3.0) in the league.
Arokodare now “likely” to leave Wolves after dressing room bust-up
It is no surprise Wolves are planning to reshape their squad in the summer, given that their relegation from the Premier League will be confirmed with five games left to play, should West Ham United take at least a point from their trip to Crystal Palace this evening.
Journalist Liam Keen has revealed Tolu Arokodare is one of the players “likely” to be moved on, as the forward was the “sole aggressor” in a dressing room bust-up with youngster Mateus Mane after the 4-0 defeat against West Ham.
On the face of it, the Nigerian leaving wouldn’t exactly be a major blow, as he has scored just three goals in 28 Premier League appearances this season, and a striker who has been much more prolific as of late could be brought in as a replacement.
