Liam Rosenior was certainly demonstrative in the Chelsea dugout, but his three-month reign at Stamford Bridge was ultimately disastrous, five straight defeats in the Premier League earning him the sack last month.

However, BlueCo need to turn the page quickly, forgetting about the latest blot on their copybook and securing a ticket into Europe next season.

It doesn’t look like embattled Chelsea will reach the Champions League, but they still boast one of the most ambitious and attractive projects in Europe, and they will retain their pull in the transfer market.

Chelsea make fresh approach for forward

Chelsea have a talented frontline, but it’s clear that they need more firepower, with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao Willian and Pedro Neto blowing hot and cold out wide.

The ramifications of missing out on Europe’s elite table would be severe, but Chelsea are resourceful, and they could still package their squad with elite talents this summer.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea and Arsenal have made recent enquiries over the availability of Real Madrid forward Endrick, who is thriving out on loan in France in Lyon.

The teenage forward is one of the world’s most exciting talents, but he was kept on the periphery with Los Blancos and would benefit from a permanent home that hands him regular game time.

Previous reports have suggested that the Blues had been ready to put a £69m bid on the table for the Brazilian.

Why Endrick could be Chelsea’s star forward

Endrick wears his star quality on his sleeve. Endrick is quick and he is fast and dangerous. Only 19 years old, he has made a big impact on loan in France, scoring four goals and supplying six assists across 13 fixtures in Ligue 1, 11 starts.

Sometimes, it’s just clear. And it’s clear with Endrick, that he has superstar potential and an underlying combativeness to complement his astonishing technical skills and pace and power.

He had a tough time at Real Madrid after joining the Spanish giants from Palmeiras in his homeland in July 2024, signing for a £52m fee.

A whole host of outfits had lined up for his signature, most notably Chelsea, which is interesting to consider when looking at the Blues’ fresh approach.

Former Palmeiras sporting director Joao Paolo Sampaio has hailed the prospect as someone who “resembles Cristiano [Ronaldo].” In that, the young Brazil international has the potential to become a superstar in the Premier League, becoming Chelsea’s main man, ahead of the likes of Estevao and Neto.

While analyst Raj Chohan has asserted that Endrick is “best as a second striker“, his fleet-footed running lends itself to wing play, which is indeed where he has been housed by Paulo Fonseca.

He would provide depth, but also something unique, allowing him to outstrip the flashy but inconsistent Neto, while rivalling his compatriot Estevao, who is immensely talented but perhaps not the full package yet, hindered by injuries and inconsistencies.

A second striker, or ramdeuter, is a term given to a mobile forward who typically operates behind a centre-forward, utilising creativity and link-up play to supply the No. 9 and dynamise their team’s attacking sequences.

Said to have a “superstar ego” by Daniel Scouting, Endrick has the potential to one-up both Estevao and Neto on the right wing, chopping inside and wreaking havoc down on Premier League defences.

Whether Chelsea manage to pull it off remains to be seen, but there’s no question that Endrick would change the Stamford Bridge side’s future for the better.
