Anderson Diaz, the No. 29 overall recruit in the 2027 class, has committed to Alabama, sources tell 247Sports.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound point guard from Atlanta’s Overtime Elite took an official visit to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in recent days and committed to Nate Oats‘ program, giving the Crimson Tide their first pledge in the 2027 class.
Diaz has been on fire this spring with the NY Rens on the Nike EYBL, averaging 20.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
A dynamic scorer and playmaker with elite creativity off the dribble, Diaz fits perfectly in Oats’ high-octane offensive system.
Diaz is a three-level scorer who can break down defenders, get into the paint and find shooters.
While Diaz is currently in the 2027 class, a potential reclassification to 2026 remains a possibility worth monitoring.
He held offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Illinois, Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh and more than a dozen other programs.
