EA Sports announced that College Football 27 will be released July 9.

Kewan Lacy of Ole Miss, Dante Moore of Oregon and Malachi Toney of Miami grace the cover.

This is the third edition of the game since the series went on hiatus after NCAA Football 14 was released in 2013.

The first college football video game that EA Sports released was in 1993 with head coach Bill Walsh on the cover. The first athlete to be on a cover was Joe Gordon of Kansas State in College Football USA 96.

Gordon went to high school at Arlington (Texas) and is one of seven players from the Lone Star State to grace the cover along with Michael Crabtree, Ewers, Gordon, Robert Griffin III, Brian Johnson, Brian Orakpo and Lacy.

national championships.

California is third with five. Reggie Bush, Carson Palmer and Ricky Williams all earned the cover after Heisman campaigns while DeSean Jackson and Mark Sanchez round out the group.
