Newcastle United are now planning for life without Lewis Hall and have already made contact to sign a European star who could act as an instant replacement.
There’s been several rumours surrounding the unhappy left-back in recent weeks, including reports that he’s fallen out with Eddie Howe. His England snub very much seems to be the final straw and with Manchester United sniffing around, Newcastle could be about to wave farewell to their second star of the summer.
If it’s up to the Magpies, then they’ll gladly keep the player who kept Lamine Yamal quiet at St James’ Park. Just like Alexander Isak last summer, however, those in Tyneside could have no choice but to sell up, especially after missing out on European football.
Newcastle making in-person checks to sign exciting Tonali replacement
The Magpies are facing the prospect of losing Tonali.
The key difference between this summer compared to the last is that Newcastle are moving a lot quicker. After cashing in on Anthony Gordon, it looks as though Victor Munoz could be on his way from Osasuna, whilst midfield targets are also on their radar in the event that Sandro Tonali departs.
The same can be said for Hall. As much of a blow as his exit would be, particularly to a direct rival, the Magpies already have a replacement in mind.

As reported by MilanPress and relayed by Sport Witness, Newcastle are now in talks to sign Davide Bartesaghi from AC Milan this summer. The right-back just enjoyed what’s been described as a “dream” campaign at San Siro, despite his side’s collective failure to qualify for the Champions League.
As such, his ambitions have been raised and he could now have his head turned by those at St James’ Park after rejecting a new deal to stay put in Italy.
Likewise, Milan are now ready to let the 20-year-old leave if there is a good enough financial incentive. Newcastle, of course, will be in a strong position to splash the cash if they sell £70m Hall in the coming months.
It’s easy to see why Bartesaghi has entered their radar. He’s yet to even reach the peak of his powers, but is already playing a key role for a European giant. If he’s available, Newcastle should go all out to welcome the perfect Hall replacement.
