West Des Moines (Iowa) Dowling Catholic Top247 offensive tackle Carter Barrett is one of the top players in the class of 2028. The 6-6, 305-pounder is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 144 overall player in the nation, No. 17 offensive tackle overall, and No. 2 recruit in the state. The industry-generated composite rankings list him 10 slots higher at No. 134 nationally.
On the recruiting front, Barrett has over 20 scholarship offers. Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Iowa State, Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State, Kentucky, and many others are pushing to land his commitment.
Michigan State offered back in January. The Spartans are making Barrett a priority. Head coach Pat Fitzgerald and his staff will continue to push hard in hopes of eventually adding him to the commit list.
