Leeds United have now received a major boost ahead of their opening offer to sign a Bundesliga star for Daniel Farke this summer.
The Whites are yet to commence their transfer business, but that hasn’t stopped the rumours from coming thick and fast. They’ve reportedly got their sights set on both Julian Brandt and Harry Wilson in just two examples of the business they could yet complete.
Brandt would be a particular statement. The former Borussia Dortmund man is a free agent after leaving the German club at the end of the season, and could now be on his way to the Premier League.
In terms of quality and experience, there won’t be many better bargains around for Leeds to take full advantage of ahead of next season.
Bargain deals seem to be the main focus right now, too. Wilson is also set to become a free agent unless he puts pen to paper on a late new deal at Fulham. After scoring 10 goals and creating another seven in the Premier League last season, the Welshman would be an excellent addition.
After Wilson and Brandt, Leeds still have other targets. Recent reports have suggested that Farke could finally have the chance to sign a long-term target from the Bundesliga this summer.

Leeds readying offer for World Cup star
As reported by BILD, and relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds are now readying an offer to sign Nico Elvedi from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The centre-back has been on Farke’s radar for some time after working together at Gladbach in the past, and he’s dreaming of a Premier League move.
However, Leeds will have to do better than their pending €8.5m (£7m) offer if they want to land a deal with Gladbach this summer. The Bundesliga club are yet to name their asking price, but it is believed that £7m will not be enough to open the exit door for Elvedi.
Currently representing his country at the World Cup, a deal for Elvedi may have to wait until Switzerland’s tournament is over, which hands Leeds some much-needed time to raise any potential funds to up their offer.
After an excellent season, Farke has more than earned the chance to request reinforcements this summer and with the defender dreaming of England’s top flight, Leeds should push to land his signature.
