Fabrizio Romano has shared more major Liverpool transfer news, as Anfield chiefs go in pursuit of another big-money star alongside Yan Diomande.
The Premier League giants have set their sights on another summer of spending and, although Diomande is likely to steal the biggest headlines, they’re still after a midfield reinforcement.
On that front, several names have already reportedly entered their radar. Collective admiration for Adam Wharton is no secret, but any progress regarding that move is yet to take place, while Ayyoub Bouaddi is now one to watch.
The Morocco and LOSC Lille teenager is enjoying an excellent World Cup and could emerge as one of the most in-demand names in the market once the tournament concludes.
It will be a tough race to win if Liverpool want to sign the 18-year-old, though, and that could force them to turn towards some alternative options in the coming months.
Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes aren’t against that idea, however, and have already got an impressive £85m star as a fresh alternative.

There was a lot for Romano to cover when speaking to Born ‘N Red recently, starting by confirming that Anfield chiefs “will return” for RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande after making progress over personal terms.
They want to get a deal over the line as quickly as possible having seen their initial £87m bid rejected, with Leipzig demanding closer to £100m.
Once that deal is complete, their attention turns towards midfield. As per Romano, Liverpool have also held talks to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United in recent weeks, launching an enquiry.
The Hammers have so far remained stubborn over their hefty £85m asking price, despite their new-found place in the Championship, and that’s seen the likes of Manchester United hesitate.
With the door left ajar for Liverpool to make their move, those on Merseyside have the chance to spend £185m to bring in two of the most sought-after players on the market.
Whether they take a similar stance to United and shy away from spending such a high fee on a Championship player remains to be seen, however.
