BEVERTON, Ore. – The Opening Finals returned in style on Thursday as 120 of the nation’s top recruits participated in the Jordan Training Camp at Nike’s HQ. The players went through a quick warm-up before being thrust into a variety of different competitions. Watching on from the sidelines was current NFL stars like Bryce Young and Tetairoa McMillan.
ALPHA DOG: 5-STAR WR JAMARIN SIMMONS (CLEMSON COMMIT)
While he might not have won every rep, the newly-minted five-star wide receiver put on a show during a lengthy 1-on-1 period with his dynamic route-running. A sudden mover with an explosive lower half, Simmons used a variety of different releases to create early separation before charting his way up or across the field.
Simmons won’t blow many away with his build as he measured just over 5-foot-11 ½, 165 pounds during Wednesday’s check-in, but he’s got sneaky length in the arm and his ability to gear down before quickly hitting the turbo constantly gives defenders fits.
MORE 1-ON-1 STANDOUTS
–Jalen Flowers, 2028 Top247 SAF: The No. 11-ranked safety in the Top247 for the class of 2028 got his hands on multiple passes during the 1-on-1 session reserved for the skill players and played near perfect coverage in the best-on-best portion of the camp. Flowers has been positioned around the secondary throughout his prep career and his ability to break on the football always jumps out on tape. Thursday’s performance echos that he can get to the catch point.
