Rangers are wasting no time this summer before welcoming much-needed reinforcements this summer and Kenny Miller believes another impressive name could be on his way.
The Gers haven’t been afraid to ruffle a few feathers in recent weeks, either. They swooped in to sign Lawrence Shankland from Hearts stealing the captain, and followed that by hiring their manager, Derek McInnes, to replace Danny Rohl.
After such a disappointing campaign last time out, it’s important that Rangers get their recruitment right this summer. And that means the right type of character, rather than just pure talent as far as Miller is concerned.
Speaking to Football FanCast, the former Rangers star reiterated the need for players who can handle the pressure of playing for such a big club, saying: “It’s another important summer at Ibrox because another new manager’s in and the squad definitely needs a bit of strengthening.
Rangers now on verge of another signing as player green lights £900k deal
The Gers are set to welcome another fresh face.
“And not just in players’ ability, I think they need to have a type of character that can handle playing for Rangers, particularly in the tough moments.
“To lose the first four games after the split is unheard of. This is the business end of the season where the big teams are normally at the peak of their powers and that was just a complete collapse.”
There are several names who certainly fit that criteria, including one who has already impressed in the Scottish Premiership.

Miller: Rangers could sign “special” star this summer
With Shankland already signed and sealed, another attacking star could be next after Miller shared what he’s heard about Rangers’ pursuit of Mikey Moore.
The former Rangers striker has heard that McInnes could sign the Tottenham Hotspur winger on loan for another season following a successful spell in the last campaign.
“It looks like Mikey Moore could maybe be coming back on loan, which I think would be a decent option for the player and the club. So there will be more players coming in and Rangers just need to make sure they are the right types to add to their current group.”
Dubbed “special” by another ex-Rangers star, Jermain Defoe, Moore is still just 18 years old and so full of potential. He would be an excellent addition at Ibrox this summer.
What’s been said about Moore to Rangers?
It’s not just Miller who’s heard about Moore’s potential return to Scottish football so soon after his last loan spell. According to TeamTalk, Rangers are making a big push to sign the teenager on loan for another season, with Tottenham ready to open the exit door on a temporary basis once again.
It won’t be under Rohl this time, but McInnes proved just how well he works with attacking talent at Tynecastle and would be perfect for Moore’s development.
The player, himself, is also reportedly keen on a return to Ibrox, which should provide those in Scotland with a major boost in the coming months.
Why Rangers want Mikey Moore return
Shankland is an impressive signing, but Moore would top that. He is as direct and quick as it comes, and still has that fearless energy of a young star. If Rangers have the chance to secure his signature for another year, then they should not hesitate.
The added bonus is that this is a player who’s likely to get even better game by game. Last season, Moore ended the campaign with seven goals and four assists. Next season, those numbers could become even more impressive.
