Host: “It’s obviously a busy time surrounding what is kind of now the trade deadline here at the draft, all kinds of wheeling and dealings. We showed some of the things percolating out there with some of the big names, (Dylan) Larkin, (Connor) Hellebuyck. What’s the latest you’re hearing?

Friedman: “So, Connor Hellebuyck, Kevin Cheveldayoff, the GM of the Jets, said today that there was nothing to that point that it really made him think he was getting anywhere close.

Three Players the Vancouver Canucks Could Look to Move

I do think the Buffalo Sabres made a run in him today in a deal that could potentially involve the fourth overall pick. Last I heard was that it gotten quiet. So I don’t know if it’s going to happen. I mean, just remember this is, it’s such a cliche, but it’s so true. Things can change with one phone call and deadlines for action. Like, there’s still another couple hours until that pick. But I do think the Sabres and the Jets talked about that possibility today.

I think that Carolina has been around him. I have no idea Florida can honestly pull this off. But Hellebuyck, I do think the Jets understand that this is something they may have to do.

Larkin, last I heard it was just quiet. I think that’s just Steve Yzerman‘s way. He likes it that way. It’s really hard to say if we’re going to get a shot at a Larkin deal tonight.
