What a week this has been for Tottenham Hotspur. Their previous transfer record was the £65m spent on Dominic Solanke but they have smashed that out of the park in two consecutive days.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Spurs had agreed an £85m deal to sign Mateus Fernandes. On Wednesday, Sandro Tonali got the go ahead to move to north London in a mega £100m swoop.
What the Lilywhites have been able to achieve in the transfer market since confirming their Premier League status has been nothing short of remarkable.
Yet, there could be even more spending to come. Roberto De Zerbi’s side are not done yet.
Spurs now planning to bolster their attack
After bolstering the defence and midfield, it’s now over to the attack. Spurs have sealed some special deals in recent days but there could be more on the way.
On the flanks, Tottenham have already opened talks to sign Savinho from Manchester City, one year on from when the club missed out on his signing.
Other options include Koln’s Said El Mala, as well as Cody Gakpo and Marcus Rashford. There is a sense that two new attackers could arrive as part of De Zerbi’s incredible rebuild.
While Spurs would not necessarily need to break the bank to seal those moves, they would need to in order to sign a certain Eli Junior Kroupi.
Indeed, news emerged late on Wednesday, via the Independant’s Miguel Delaney, that they are now targeting the Bournemouth striker in another sensational move.
Further details were shared by Spurs insider Szyexclu who has delivered critical updates on the Mateus Fernandes saga right throughout.
Taking to social media, they revealed that the Londoners have actually scheduled a round of talks with Kroupi’s camp to discuss a potential move this summer.
The Cherries are looking for a mega £90m to sell the young Frenchman with Spurs boosted by the fact that Kroupi is keen on the move if a club-to-club agreement can be reached.
Why Kroupi could become Spurs’ new Harry Kane
It is safe to say that since Harry Kane departed Tottenham, everything has gone down hill.
Sure, they have won the Europa League, but not even the most pessimistic of supporters would have expected them to feel his loss this badly.
Kane left for Bayern Munich having scored a breathtaking 280 goals in 435 matches. The fact of the matter is that no one was going to be able to replace that sort of output.
Should Spurs have struggled this much though? Definitely not. They certainly shouldn’t have been embroiled in back to back relegation battles.
Dominic Solanke was signed and even though he contributed 16 goals during his debut campaign in the capital, he has never truly set the world alight.
As a result, Kroupi would be an extraordinarily good addition to the Spurs ranks. He’d be up there with Tonali and Fernandes for just how big a coup it would be. After all, both Arsenal and PSG are said to be looking at him.
Unlike Kane, the 19-year-old Bournemouth star has been devastating as a teenager. It took the Spurs icon a few years of senior football to get his feet under the table but Kroupi has made an instant impact.

After arriving from Lorient in France, the teenager has been one of the best young players in the world, scoring 13 goals during his first season with the south coast club. The significance of those goals are huge. No teenager has ever scored more goals in their debut Premier League season than him.
He’s a tricky customer, a player capable of playing as a second striker or off the left too. His best position is certainly centrally where he was devastating in the final third.
He is one of the most ruthless and most efficient strikers around. Last term, only four strikers in the English top-flight had a better conversion rate.
Kroupi’s sat at an impressive 22.0%. For context, that was not far behind Kane’s record in the Bundesliga of 24.1% last season.
Possessing raw pace and a fabulous dribbling ability, they are two very different profiles but what Spurs need are goals. Indeed, for the first time since Kane’s departure, they could finally seal a regular source again if they were to sign the young Kroupi.
Judging by his record in 2025/26, this is a centre-forward who is set to explode in the years to come. Expect him to become one of the best attackers in world football before too long.
