The rich get richer, as yet another coveted signal-caller is set to play his college ball in Tuscaloosa. Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell Top247 quarterback Kingston Preyear, the No. 68 overall player in the class of 2028, has announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
In 2025, Alabama landed five-star quarterback Keelon Russell. In 2026, the Tide added Top100 quarterback Jett Thomalla and three-star quarterback Tayden-Evan Kaawa to the room. This year, in 2027, the Crimson Tide has already secured two commitments from five-star quarterback Elijah Haven and four-star quarterback Trent Seaborn.
Preyear, a 6-3, 195-pound talent, is ready to compete with the top talent in Tuscaloosa. He chose Alabama over offers from Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, UCLA, and many others across the country. Following a year where he completed 181 of 293 passes for 3,026 yards, 34 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions, along with 518 rushing yards and two more scores, Preyear could have gone just about anywhere. In the end, he wants to stay home and put on for the Yellowhammer State.
So, why Alabama? What went into his decision? When did he know he was set to play for the Tide?
