The Newcastle United exit door is quickly becoming revolving. It swung open for Anthony Gordon at the start of the window, kept swinging for Sandro Tonali and still looks to be going around, waiting for Bruno Guimaraes.
It’s the stuff of nightmares for the Magpies and they’ve been left with no choice but to recruit in rapid fashion. With Bouzamana Toure through the door and Johan Manzambi potentially next, they’ve now set their sights on Sevilla left-back Oso.

Credibility |
Whilst the headlines are on Guimaraes, Lewis Hall could still sneak out of St James’ Park this summer, leaving Newcastle to scramble for a left-back. That’s where Oso comes in. Sevilla have told their star to sign a new deal or leave ahead of next season, having already received contact from Tyneside. |
|
Finances |
There have been some absurd fees flying around the market this summer, but Oso’s valuation isn’t one of them. If he fails to sign a new deal in Spain, then Newcastle can reportedly land a deal for just €10m (£9m). |
|
Insight |
Still just 23 years old, Oso is an attack-minded left-back who can also play as a winger. He was involved in five La Liga goals for Sevilla last season, but that didn’t come with a defensive sacrifice. Oso also won 52% of his duels. |
|
Impact |
The arrival of a new left-back would undoubtedly raise red flags about Hall’s Newcastle future, perhaps allowing the likes of Man United to swoop in. |
The Magpies are planning ahead this time and the potential arrival of Oso could signal the end of Hall’s career at St James’ Park.
Newcastle launch approach to sign Oso
As reported by Vamos Mi Sevilla FC in Spain and relayed by Sport Witness, Newcastle have launched contact to sign Oso from Sevilla this summer.
The Spanish club have issued a deadline to their defender to sign a new deal or complete an exit ahead of next season. As things stand, his current deal is set to expire in just under a year, which means that Sevilla have just two opportunities left to cash in.
As such, they’re now getting desperate and will begin negotiations at just €10m (£9m) if Oso fails to put pen to paper before their deadline.
Oso could replace Lewis Hall at bargain price
At a time when talented stars are coming at a premium price, Oso represents an excellent market opportunity. For just £9m, Newcastle can swoop in and find their replacement for Hall, before potentially cashing in on the England international for instant profit. It’s a win-win scenario for all involved.

The numbers show the attacking potential that Oso has, even if he is not at the same level defensively when compared to Hall. As Eddie Howe looks to reignite Newcastle’s attacking spark, the Sevilla man would be a fantastic signing at a bargain price.
