Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel Top247 linebacker Roman Igwebuike, one of the top prospects in the class of 2027, is officially off the board. On Saturday, in front of friends and family, the 6-3, 220-pounder committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Igwebuike is 247Sports’ No. 164 overall player in the country. He is the No. 12 linebacker nationally and No. 8 recruit in his home state. The industry-generated composite rankings slot him at No. 123 overall nationally.
When it came down to it, Notre Dame, Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana, and Clemson were the finalists. This was a tough battle between all five schools, but in the end, Igwebuike chose to call South Bend home for the next few years.
