NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — The biggest names in high school basketball played their best Wednesday at the Nike Peach Jam. While college coaches weren’t allowed to attend until Thursday, the stakes were still at their highest as pool play was winding down and teams were fighting to advance to the weekend’s quarterfinals and a subsequent chance to compete for the 2026 EYBL championship.
It’s not all that’s on the line either. With the battle to be the No. 1-ranked prospect in the senior class, Beckham Black made a statement, going off for 37 points while leading his AB Elite squad to an important win. He scored in a number of different ways, making 3s, getting his pull-up, going into the mid-post, and being opportunistic getting to the rim.
Simultaneously, Cayden Daughtry, the player who is gaining traction as arguably the most impactful in the EYBL today, was up to his usual tricks, scoring 34 points on just 16 shots from the floor, handing out seven assists against just one turnover and adding six rebounds for good measure. He led the Florida Rebels to another win as they seem destined for the weekend, just as he does to lead the league in scoring.
