Former UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis borrowed Nate Diaz’s legendary 2015 Conor McGregor callout to send a hilarious message to Francis Ngannou.
This past weekend at UFC Oklahoma City, the South African fighter put on a dominant performance against the legendary Kamaru Usman and won by unanimous decision.
After getting back in the win column, du Plessis chugged a beer and an espresso martini at the afterparty before calling out Ngannou by recreating the iconic line Nate Diaz used to call out “The Notorious” in 2015. He said:
“Francis Ngannou, you’re taking everything I worked for, motherf**ker. I wanna fight your a*s.”

Du Plessis lost his title to Khamzat Chimaev last year at UFC 319. The title fight was a one-sided affair as “Stillknocks” was controlled on the ground for 21 minutes and 40 seconds by “Borz” and taken down 12 times.
After the humiliating loss, Dricus du Plessis spent nearly 11 months on the sidelines. During that time, he worked on his takedown defense, wrestling, level changes, and overall arsenal. The improvements were clear this past weekend, and all that hard work paid off as even legendary Kamaru Usman struggled to take the 32-year-old down and keep him there as Chimaev did.
At UFC Oklahoma City, “Stillknocks” was at his best, defending takedowns, attacking with his own wrestling briefly, and overwhelming Usman with relentless pressure, non-stop strikes, high kicks, and combinations.
Dricus du Plessis wants Nassourdine Imavov to fight for the belt next
Dricus du Plessis wants his belt back, but for now, he is game to wait. After defeating Kamaru Usman, du Plessis appeared in an interview with Full Send MMA, during which he opined that No. 3-ranked middleweight contender Nassourdine Imavov, who is on a five-fight winning streak, deserves the next title shot, and current and two-time 185-pound titleholder Sean Strickland must face Imavov next.
Du Plessis wants “Tarzan” to beat “The Sniper,” after which he has expressed interest in running it back with the American, whom he has already beaten twice.
