A rising star in the state of Washington: Jayce Halasz debuts as 2028’s No. 74 overall recruit in 247Sports’ new rankings.
The four-star talent now stands as the No. 11 wide receiver nationally. Halasz also rates as a top-two prospect in the Evergreen State.
From waiting for his initial rating to well inside the cycle’s top-100, a rewarding recognition for the elite Pacific Northwest pass catcher.
“I’ve definitely been working for it behind the scenes,” Halasz said. “I’ve had my head down, but I knew this moment will come eventually. I’ve been working hard for it, for sure.”
“You definitely have to pinch yourself sometimes, though. There are some big moments and it can feel surreal, but you stay level headed as best you can. Keep your head down and keep working… To get to a point like this, it builds character in a way. It comes from film development, taking care of your body, working on your hands, just being consistent. Being consistent when nobody’s looking. I’d definitely say the stuff that nobody sees is the most important to me… I’m going to get to that next level eventually, but I have to keep showcasing my talent to get there.”
As far as the next level, Halasz is diving fully into the recruiting process.
“Meeting with coaches and making relationships with them is really important to me right now,” Halasz said. “Recruiting’s been going good, we had a national tour going all over the country. We were visiting different places, getting down to camps and private workouts, getting a feel for all the coaches. It’s been really good for us, and we’re definitely learning some things about these different schools.”
