Already on an upward trajectory, Landen Wade is expected to put together a breakout year entering his junior season.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Basha (Ariz.) High defensive lineman was recently moved into the top-25 of 247Sports’ 2028 player rankings. A top-seven edge nationally, Wade is seen as a top-two prospect in the Grand Canyon State within the cycle.
From the early recognition to 20-plus offers and counting, Wade isn’t taking any of it for granted.
“Of course, I thank God for everything,” Wade said. “It’s crazy waking up and being a top-25 in the nation type of player. But the grind doesn’t stop, that’s something I keep on my mind every day. I have to keep working, but I definitely thank God for every blessing. And I thank all of my coaches, too.”
“Since I was a kid, I’ve been wanting to play on the highest level. So, getting all this praise and stuff like that, it’s just one step closer to my goal. But I know that’s far down the line, so I just keep working until then.”
Wade’s recruitment is just getting started, but it’s quickly becoming a competitive process. A few programs have done well making the elite front liner a priority.
