UFC women’s strawweight queen Mackenzie Dern does not second Ian Machado Garry’s theory that the world would be a better and simpler place if run by women.
Earlier this month, during a sit-down with High Performance, Garry opined that if men let women take over the world, everything would be easier. Here’s what he said:
“If the world was run by women, we’d all live in a better world. It would all be simpler and easier. That’s the fact of the matter, whether you want to agree with it or not. If women ruled the world and we just listened to them and let them take over, it would be an easier world.”
The Dubliner also lauded his wife Layla during the same interview, adding that smart men would turn to their wives for guidance:
“She is my earth angel. She is the person who, when I need guidance, I go to her. And I feel like any smart man in the world should look at his wife and know that that’s the person I need to listen to.”

Does Mackenzie Dern want women to rule the world like Ian Machado Garry?
While Ian Machado Garry has received plenty of flak from the MMA community for saying that the women must rule the world, Mackenzie Dern has not mocked or criticized him, even though she also does not agree with the Irishman.
On UFC 330 media day, when Dern was asked to weigh in on her views about “The Future” praising femininity and if she seconds Garry’s idea that the world would be a better place if ruled by women, the 33-year-old opined that women should be independent; however, she personally prefers men taking the lead.
“I come from a little bit more traditional upbringing. Obviously, the women in my family are super strong and independent and they taught me how to be a strong woman. But I like the guy protecting, leading and doing that stuff. And I like to just relax. If I need to go to war with him, I will. But I’m a mommy… I think it’s very good that we’re strong women and we don’t depend on guys. But I like the man taking the lead.”
