Crystal Palace have now struck a verbal agreement to sign Chelsea’s Axel Disasi, having identified the defender as their priority transfer target.
As they look to improve their squad ahead of a maiden Europa League campaign, Palace have been relatively busy in the summer transfer window, and they have already signed one centre-back, with Takehiro Tomiyasu arriving at Selhurst Park.

However, Tomiyasu can also be deployed at right-back, and it remains to be seen whether he will be a success at Palace, having made just eight league appearances over the past two seasons, across spells with Arsenal and Ajax.
Disasi, on the other hand, has received far more game time, making 14 appearances for West Ham United after signing for Nuno’s side on loan from Chelsea during the January transfer window.
The season prior, the Frenchman was shipped out on loan to Aston Villa, where he also impressed, being lauded as “unbelievable” by Sky Sports’ Izzy Christiansen.
As such, despite suffering relegation with the Hammers last season, the £80,000-a-week defender could be a solid signing for the Eagles, who are now closing in on a deal.
Crystal Palace reach agreement to sign Axel Disasi
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Crystal Palace have now struck a verbal agreement to sign Disasi on a paid loan deal, which doesn’t include an option to make the move permanent.
The former West Ham loanee has been identified as Palace’s priority target to replace Maxence Lacroix, who joined Premier League rivals Chelsea earlier this summer.
Talks are now ongoing with the centre-back’s agents, as Steve Parish & co look to finalise personal terms, and if an agreement is reached, he will make the move to Selhurst Park.
The latest on Daniel Munoz’s Crystal Palace future
Having signed Mingueza and Khalaili this summer, Palace are now well-stocked at right-back, which means they are prepared to sanction the sale of Daniel Munoz, who made 46 appearances in all competitions last season.
Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest have all made contact to ask about the conditions of signing the full-back, with Pierre Sage’s side willing to offload him for just £25m.
Khalaili could be an exciting replacement for the Colombian, considering his attacking output throughout his career to date, picking up 14 goals and six assists in 51 games for Maccabi Haifa, before going on to collect 19 goal involvements in 101 matches for Union SG.
