The explosive running back had touchdown runs of 3, 6, 17, 45, 59, 68 and 90 yards to power the charge as he accounted for 42 of his team’s 56 points himself.
With Notre Dame trailing 53-50 in overtime, Allen was only a decoy for the final play as he took a direct snap before pitching the ball back to quarterback Jackson Bouthilet on a reverse before Bouthilet connected with a wide open Joey Massey for a 25-yard touchdown strike.
Allen also assisted the coaching staff on the game-winning touchdown according to reports, as Allen told the Appleton Post-Crescent he approached the Notre Dame coaching staff to suggest the play that gave them the walk-off victory in overtime.
“Right before that drive we ran a play similar to that where I didn’t toss it to my quarterback and I saw that it was going to be open. I go to my coach and I ask him ‘Can we run that play? I think it’s going to be there. It was right there and Joey walked right in to the end zone,’ ” Allen told the paper.
Senior quarterback Ashton Vanbeek carried 26 times for 265 yards and accounted for seven touchdowns in the loss for Neenah.
Allen will be a name to watch throughout his senior season as the top 250 Class of 2027 prospect is coming off a junior season that saw him carry 356 times for 3,436 yards and 57 touchdowns to help the Tritons reach the Division 2 state championship game.
The future Badger topped his total from his senior season debut twice last season, as he carried 21 times for 477 yards in a 77-32 win versus Greenfield and he rushed 44 times for 509 yards in a 56-42 triumph over Slinger in the opening rounds of the state tournament.
