Manchester United have entered the race to sign Eli Junior Kroupi, with AFC Bournemouth now prepared to sell the forward in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old is the Cherries’ top scorer in the Premier League this season, having found the net on ten occasions, and James Hill had some very high praise for the teenager after the recent 2-1 victory against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

“He’s frightening. Not just in the Premier League but I think he’s one of the best in the world for his age and he is only going to get better.

“He’s come on in leaps and bounds throughout the season. It’s a tough team to come into with it being his first season as well but he came in and hit the ground running.

“You can see what a fantastic player he is. He just needs to keep going until the end of the season.”

The five-time France U21 international is making a name for himself as a big-game player, having also scored against Man United in both fixtures this season, most recently getting on the scoresheet in the 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium.

Matheus Cunha was the Red Devils’ match winner in the trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, but the Brazilian has been outscored by the Bournemouth star this season, finding the net on two fewer occasions.

As such, it is perhaps no surprise the race for Kroupi’s signature is now heating up, with a report from Football Insider revealing Bournemouth are willing to cash-in on the forward during the summer transfer window.

Man United have stormed into the race for the youngster, and Bournemouth are expected to be willing to accept offers in the £50m – £60m range.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also credited with an interest in the starlet, who has regularly been amongst the goals since becoming a first team regular for Lorient in the 2023-24 campaign.

Carrick refuses to rule out Rashford return

Although United want to strengthen their forward line, Michael Carrick has suggested Marcus Rashford could return to Old Trafford, rather than being sold in the summer.

Carrick said: “I just think there’s decisions to be made in time, really, on certain things, and obviously Marcus is in that situation. But at this point in time nothing’s been decided. And it will be, because it has to be at a certain point, but at this stage, there’s nothing to say.”

With Rashford picking up a combined 25 goals and assists for Barcelona in all competitions this season, the United boss has a big decision to make this summer, if he is given the job on a permanent basis.
