The 2026 college football transfer portal was officially buttoned up late last week with the release of Cooper Petagna‘s final transfer rankings. The update featured significant movement across the top 150 players, shaking up class rankings and solidifying a new top 10 that includes LSU, Texas, Ohio State, Miami and Auburn.

Five of the top 10 transfer portal classes this cycle belong to first-year coaches — including Lane Kiffin, who wasted no time assembling one of the best hauls in portal history during his debut offseason at LSU. The move builds on four straight top-five portal classes he compiled at Ole Miss.

Oklahoma State was the only team to fall outside the top 10 after the final rankings update. Still, the Cowboys put together their best portal class in program history, headlined by North Texas transfer quarterback Drew Mestemaker, one of just seven transfers to earn a Day 1 NFL Draft grade.
