Trinidad Chambliss knows that there’s one game on the Ole Miss Rebels‘ 2026 schedule that even the most casual of college football fans will be tuning in for.
That game is on Sept. 19, when former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and many of the folks he took with him to Baton Rouge will come to town with the LSU Tigers.
Kiffin ditched Ole Miss for LSU right before the College Football Playoff last season, and along with him went several players as well as offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.
Oxford is never a friendly place for LSU. That’s just life in the SEC.
The Ole Miss fan base is going to be heated to see Kiffin back at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, though.
For his part, Chambliss is not shying away from that heat, either. Rather than play politician and talk about all the love he has for his former teammates and coaches, the Ole Miss quarterback is leaning into the start of what could be a very intense rivalry.
“Lane Kiffin is at LSU now, (Charlie) Weis is at LSU now, and some of our former players that were on the team last year are at LSU. It’s starting to be a pretty heated rivalry now,” Chambliss recently told Wilson Alexander of On3.
