James Armstrong is a 2028 quarterback recruit, so in no way did he need to rush to commit.
He hasn’t even played his junior season of high school football yet, which goes to show you just how much time he has left in his recruitment.
Armstrong, from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, has no intention of dragging things out, though. He doesn’t like the spotlight and attention that comes along with being pursued on the recruiting trail, and he’s known all along what he wants to do.
What he wants to do is play football, and to do so for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Armstrong made his commitment to Penn State over Kentucky and Pitt on Thursday.
