The South Carolina Gamecocks have landed the first commitment of their 2028 recruiting class.
That commitment has come from one of the best athletes in the country for 2028, wide receiver Joseph “Jet” Gibbs from Haw River, North Carolina.
Checking in at 6-foot-1, 187 pounds, Gibbs can do a lot on the football field.
As a sophomore at Southeast Alamance High School, he caught six passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns as a wide receiver on offense. He played cornerback on defense, and he also runs track.
Gibbs was a state qualifier in the 100-meter dash, so he’s got some major speed.
South Carolina recruited him as a wide receiver, and barring any changes (which happen all the time in college football), he’ll be coached by wide receivers coach Mike Furrey.
