Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return to the octagon after five years may have ended in disappointment, but the Irishman is not yet prepared to retire or give up.
McGregor ran it back with Max Holloway this past weekend at UFC 329, but disaster struck moments after the opening bell. The Dubliner suffered a “right-knee internal injury” (suspected to be a torn ACL) early in the fight and was unable to stand properly or put pressure on his right leg. As he repeatedly lost his balance, referee Mike Beltran stepped in to wave off the contest, awarding Holloway a first-round TKO victory.

While many believe McGregor was injured even before the fight started, the UFC has now released pre-fight warm-up footage in which “The Notorious” is seen practicing the same kick that busted his knee up during the bout.
So far, there has been no confirmation about what the injury is. Some suggest it could be an ACL or MCL tear, and a few have suggested that McGregor has suffered a lateral meniscus tear.
