California leads the way with eight sluggers who have claimed the long ball competition, including Garret Anderson, Barry Bonds, Eric Davis, Jason Giambi, Aaron Judge, Mark McGwire, Giancarlo Stanton and Darryl Strawberry.
Florida follows with five former Derby champions, including Pete Alonso, Andre Dawson, Prince Fielder, Luis Gonzalez and Tino Martinez. Gonzalez and Martinez both played for Jefferson (Tampa, Fla.), the only school to produce multiple Derby champs.
Georgia and Ohio were the only other states to have multiple past winners. Thirteen international players have won the competition.
