UFC bantamweight Adrian Yanez is excited about a positive future ahead in the wake of his win over Cody Garbrandt at UFC 329.

Last weekend, Adrian Yanez may well have sent Cody Garbrandt into retirement with an emphatic and impressive performance. It was the kind of showing that reminded everyone why Yanez was once viewed as a potential title contender in the division, and it certainly gives him a lot of options for the remainder of the year and beyond.

At the age of 32, with his 33rd birthday coming up later this year, Adrian Yanez knows that if he is serious about pursuing the gold, now is the time to strike, and that this is just a building block in a much larger endeavor for him.

In his post-fight press conference, Adrian Yanez had the following to say about what’s next.

Adrian Yanez is excited for the future

“This is a better version of me, and honestly, we’re expecting more. I’m just getting started,” Yanez said at his post-fight news conference. “I feel like I’m 21 years old again and just learning so much and expanding my mind, moving around. MMA IQ, to me, has been amazing. I’m always not just physically training, but also mentally training. There’s going to be a better version of me next time I step in here.”

“The division should be scared,” Yanez said. “I’ve got secret weapons that nobody knows about. We’re just scratching the surface level of my all-around game. I haven’t shown everything, and I’m going to keep a lot of that a secret. I’m telling you right now, there’s a lot more to come. I’m getting better every single day, whether it’s 1 percent, whether it’s 5 percent, we’re on the path to growing and building.”

As for Garbrandt, fans are now pleading with him to hang up the gloves after yet another loss via finish. While his championship triumph over Dominick Cruz will never be forgotten, it’s been nearly ten years since that famous night, and he’s taken a whole lot of damage in that time.
