A YouTube account claiming to be Ian Machado Garry’s brother has ripped into the UFC fighter over a truckload of personal issues.
Garry recently sat for an interview with the YouTube channel High Performance. Talking about a myriad of topics, the top welterweight also discussed his family, upbringing, and other personal stuff in detail.
In the said interview, Garry even went on to state that he was beaten by his parents as a kid, before going on to add that his mother was not supportive of his ‘plan to be the next Conor McGregor.’ All these comments struck a nerve in an account claiming to be the brother of the Irish fighter.
In a lengthy comment under the YouTube video, @seangarry6081 tore into the 28-year-old for pretending to be a ‘victim,’ accusing his family of not supporting him, missing his grandad’s funeral and more. Here is what the comment read:
Ian, you’re not a victim. You act like we were beaten as kids. We grew up in a middle-class house and had everything we wanted. You’re the type of guy to take money off his parents and never pay them back. I think the word is entitled. We had everything a child could need.
‘Sean Garry’ continued:
Oh no, you got paid to go to college and your mother was stressed. You got flown all over the world with boxing, yet you talk about them not supporting you? Dad personally got involved in your boxing the whole time, even when he was sick and in chronic pain. Do me a favour and explain that one, Ian.
Ian Machado Garry was then put on blast for ditching his family for Layla and also missing his grandad’s funeral:
We attended every one of your fights, and we always believed you could do it. But Layla, who met you when you were only a few fights away from the UFC, is suddenly the one who had faith? No way really you were already there…You’re an avoidant person, like me, but I’ve grown up emotionally unlike you. You hide from negativity because you can’t cope with the reality of your own actions…Missing your grandad’s funeral—was that a real man thing to do? Not even a text, lad. I’m missing something here. “World run by Layla” more like.
The account ended the rant with:
My patience with you, Ian, has worn thin.
