Jon Jones has hinted at a return to the octagon, using a verse from a Justin Bieber song to let fans know that he may be coming back soon. The American retired from the UFC in 2025 and vacated his undisputed heavyweight championship instead of fighting the interim 265-pound champion Tom Aspinall.
However, when the White House card was announced, he came out of retirement and jumped right back into the testing pool. “Bones” also expressed interest in fighting former two-division champion Alex Pereira.
However, Jones later alleged that the UFC lowballed him and he had to walk away from the comeback fight. UFC CEO Dana White, on the other hand, claimed that Jones retired due to hip arthritis, had no intention of competing again, and the promotion was never going to make him a part of the June 14 card.
After hearing White’s remarks, Jones asked the UFC to release him if they think he has nothing more to offer as a fighter. However, later in April, “Bones” met Hunter Campbell and discussed a potential return.
Jon Jones is suffering from hip arthritis, as mentioned before, and has undergone stem cell therapy to treat the condition. Even Joe Rogan informed fans about the former two-division champ’s treatment and how he was feeling better and was even ready to enter training camp for a potential fight at the White House.
Jon Jones teases UFC return once again: “Never say never”
Most recently, during a Q&A session on X, Jon Jones was asked by a fan to reveal when he plans to return, especially now that the company’s biggest star, Conor McGregor, is finally returning to the octagon after five years to run it back with Max Holoway in the main event of UFC 329.
Jones replied, stating that he is currently focused on getting his protege, Gable Steveson, ready for his UFC debut. Steveson is going to fight Elisha Ellison, the same night McGregor is making his return.

Jones, however, added that the stem cell treatment is doing its magic, and he’s moving better than ever. His comments suggested that a UFC return could be real close:
“Never say never, right now we are finishing up Gable‘s training camp. He’s looking extraordinary. I’ve been his main training partner, and I’m moving like I never left. 🤷🏾 Stem cells must be working.”
