Rising 2029 guard King Bacot secured his biggest offer yet this past week, landing hometown Virginia after a call with coach Ryan Odom. The offer joins a growing list that already includes Maryland and Mississippi State.
The interest arrives on the heels of his freshman season at Petersburg (Va.) High where he was the only freshman to crack the varsity roster. Bacot led the team with 5.1 assists per game as the Crimson Wave went 22-4 and claimed the 2026 VHSL Class 3 state championship.
He enters his sophomore season a few inches taller at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds with his eyes firmly on a national title.
He’s also attracting interest from two of the country’s premier programs — reigning national champion Michigan and North Carolina.
The latter is where older brother Armando Bacot holds program records for career rebounds and double-doubles.
