LONG BEACH, Calif. — Optimism has bloomed to new heights in Westwood Village as UCLA kicks off its fall camp practices Thursday, particularly with the buzz the program has generated on the recruiting trail this offseason.
The Bruins have, up to this point, built a top 20 recruiting class, which would be their first such group since the 2018 cycle. Blue-chip cornerback JuJu Johnson headlines the group and would be just the second five-star prospect to sign with UCLA in the past decade.
With the energy around the facility reaching levels not seen since the Jim Mora era, there are a number of reasons why Johnson senses that this is just the beginning of something special.
